- March 1988: Lake Erie, North America. A Coast Guard team summoned to investigate a large object and other smaller lights spotted by a family along Lake Erie watched as the âparentâ object appeared to descend close to the lake ice, causing it to rumble and crack. The smaller lights, which resembled triangles, lingered nearby.

- 1982: Byelo Air Base in the former Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. UAP flew over Byelo Air Base in the former Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. Seconds later, the launch sequence for the baseâs missiles switched on without any human ever entering the launch codes. Operators frantically rushed to shut the system down but could not. When the launch sequence reached its very last rung, it shut down of its own accord.

- November 22, 1968 (9:00 PM): Fleury-dâAude (France). A dozen witnesses saw a lens-shaped object surrounded with a blue glow, making a noise similar to that of a jet and emitting flashes, which landed in a field briefly. It suddenly took off and was lost to sight at the horizon.

- March 16, 1967 (Night): Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana (USA). UAP resembling zigzagging âstarsâ appeared over Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana. Shortly after, multiple ICBM nuclear warheads went offline.

- March 20-21, 1966: Michigan (USA). [The Michigan âswamp gasâ UFO reports] Neighborhoods in Michigan were terrorized over several days by strange craft that dove, hovered, climbed, and disappearedâonly to reappear. One of these objects briefly landed in a nearby swamp.

- August 21, 1955 (Evening): Kelly-Hopkinsville (Kentucky). [The Kelly-Hopkinsville encounter] Five adults and seven children arrived at the Hopkinsville police station claiming that small alien creatures from a spaceship were attacking their farmhouse, and that they had been holding them off with gunfire âfor nearly four hoursâ. Two of the adults claimed they had been shooting at a few short, dark figures who repeatedly popped up at the doorway or peered into the windows.

- October 27, 1954: Florence, Italy. At a football game at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence, thousands observed unidentified flying objects that halted the game. These egg-shaped UFOs were accompanied by a glittering substance known as âangel hairâ.

- March, 1952: Belgian Congo (Central Africa). Two fiery discs zigzagged low over uranium mines, then departed toward Lake Tanganyika

- March 10, 1950: Orangeburg (South Carolina). Six people see a moon-sized disk hover over the city of Orangeburg, South Carolina for 15 minutes

- July 9, 1949: Alexandria (Virginia). Sightings of saucer-shaped objects are reported in Alexandria, Virginia

- February 21, 1948 (2:00AM): West Palm Beach (Florida). A newspaper editor and his son see a ray or blob of light sweeping in from the southeast over West Palm Beach, Florida at 2:00 AM

- June 24, 1947: Mineral, near Mount Rainier (Washington). [The Kenneth Arnold UFO Sightings] Private pilot Kenneth Arnold claimed that he saw a string of nine, shiny unidentified flying objects flying past Mount Rainier at speeds that Arnold estimated at a minimum of 1,200 miles an hour (1,932 km/hr). Arnoldâs description of the objects also led to the press quickly coining the terms flying saucer and flying disc as popular descriptive terms for UFOs.
